Ask These Questions to Get the Best CBD Experience

Posted by Phene Wardlaw on

Buying CBD is like buying a car. You need to ask the right questions before you commit to one.

To make sure you don’t end up with a clunker, we’ve rounded up the questions you need to ask before buying CBD.

How should I consume CBD?

CBD isn’t a one-size-fits-all product. There are many different forms of CBD and ways to consume it. The best type of CBD product for you will depend on your needs, experience, and personal preferences.

  • CBD oil – CBD oil is versatile, easy to dose, and comes in a variety of strengths. You can vape CBD oil, add it to food, rub it on your skin, or just pop it on your tongue.
  • Edible CBD products – Edible CBD products are great because they’re fuss-free, discreet, and tasty! Because of how we digest CBD, edible products won’t be as strong as vaping, but their effects will last for hours (1).
  • CBD vapes – Vaping is for those who want a big hit of CBD. When you vape CBD, you’ll feel strong effects, quickly (2).

What dose should I take?

The good news about dosing CBD is that you can safely take up to 1,500 mg (3). In fact, evidence tells us that it does not seem possible to overdose on CBD (4).

But regardless, it’s still a good idea to get your dose right to properly treat your symptoms and reduce any side effects. The perfect dose is different for everyone, but factors to consider when deciding on how much CBD to take include:

  • Tolerance - Have you taken CBD before? If you have a high tolerance, then you can start with a higher dose. If you don’t know, then it’s best to start low and work your way up.
  • Weight - The general rule, with CBD and other medicines, is the smaller you are, the less you need.
  • Symptom severity - The stronger the symptoms you are wanting to treat, the more CBD you will likely need.

The bottom line

While there are more questions you can ask, the two most important ones to ensure you pick the proper CBD product are: how should I consume CBD and how much should I have?
